Description Provenance Exhibitions Bibliography

Pierre Troubetzkoy (1864-1936) was the older brother of Paul Troubetzkoy and a famous portraitist. The two brothers, bound by common artistic experiences, always kept contact during the summers spent on shores of the Lake Maggiore and even after Pierre’s move to the US and Paul’s relocation in Russia. Paul Troubetzkoy executed different portraits of his brother Pierre during his lifetime. The present plaster is kept at the Museo del Paesaggio (inv. T 105), while another bronze cast can be found in a private collection.
