The present portrait depicts Josephine Crane Bradley (1886-1952), daughter of businessman and industrialist Charles R. Crane (1858-1939).

commissioned by Charles R. Crane (1858-1939) of Chicago, 1912;
passed to his daughter Josephine Crane Bradley (1886-1952) of Madison, 1912;
passed by inheritance to her husband Harold Cornelius Bradley (1878-1976), 1912;
passed by inheritance to their son Richard C. Bradley (b. 1922) of Colorado Springs, 1976;
donated to the Chazen Museum of Art, 2011.
