Portrait of Gabriele D’Annunzio (Ritratto di Gabriele D'Annunzio)

The present plaster is dated 1892, most likely when Troubetzkoy was in Naples to meet D’Annunzio (which at the time was writing an article on Troubetzkoy for the newspaper “Il Mattino”). The plaster was then shown in Milan in 1892 at the Famiglia Artistica exhibition. A bronze cast of the present sculpture was given to D’Annunzio as a gift that same year.
