Mother with child (Elin Troubetzkoy with her son Pierre) (Madre con bambino (Elin Troubetzkoy con il figlio Pierre))

The group depicts Elin Troubetzkoy with her son Pierre. The age of the child allows for the artworks to be dated at 1907, when the child was roughly two years old. Another version of the present plaster, in marble, is kept at the Museo del Paesaggio in Verbania (inv. T n. 337). Frezzotti (2017) states that it is very likely that the marble had been exhibited in Paris in 1908 at the Societe’ Nouvelle des Peintres et Sculpteurs. Troubetzkoy had made several bronze copies of the present plaster; one is kept in a private collection in Rome (Grioni, op. cit. 1984), another at the County Museum of Los Angeles and a last one in a southamerican private collection.
