Description Provenance Exhibitions Bibliography

The present work depicts Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) a  famous Italian tenor. The work had been first modelled in New York in 1912. When the tenor met Troubetzkoy, Caruso was already living in America and working with the Metropolitan Theatre of New York. The present work is an hommage to Giacomo Puccini, a great friend of Troubetzkoy. The bronze version of the present plaster is kept at the Museo Puccini at Torre del Lago (l’Illustrazione Italiana 1913 p. 14).
