Bust of Achille Tominetti (Busto di Achille Tominetti)
The bust depicts Achille Tominetti (Milan, 1948 – Miazzina, 1917). Friend of Vittore Grubicy, Tominetti exhibited in London in 1888 at the Italian Exhibition, including artists like Morbelli, Ranzoni, Cremona, Segantini and Pusterla. An inscription is present on the right side of the plaster : “All’Amico Tominetti / Paul Troubetzkoy 1932”. The present bust and the monument dedicated to Tominetti in Miazzina are identical, the only difference appears to be in the signature. At the Museo del Paesaggio is kept another smaller plaster bust of Tominetti (inv. T n. 267), probably sculpted prior to 1932, perhaps just after the death of Tominetti in 1917.
